Our Services
What is going to happen next?
The Guild Anderson service includes design, manufacture, fitting and finishing of your new kitchen. We do not arrange for plumbers, builders and electricians but we will work closely with yours.
Kitchen Design Locations
We like to work locally as often as possible, but we are very happy to deliver to following areas:
There are seven steps to acquiring your a new Guild Anderson kitchen:
1. Our first conversation
The very first step is to have a chat on the phone with Nick Anderson. We will talk about your project and any specific features that you are looking for. Do think about what your budget is; our average kitchen is around £30,000 but for a small kitchen we start at £18,000. Obviously how adventurous we can be with the design depends on the size of your budget.
2. The first visit
We will listen to you to get an idea of what you want in terms of a new kitchen. Things that help us are: how big your family is; is your kitchen for cooking only; or cooking, eating and relaxing/chatting. Also, what ideas do you have for your new kitchen? Keep hold of magazine clippings as they make useful references. Once we have built up a brief together Nick will draw up an initial plan and quotation for the project.
We are generally happy to do projects within 80 miles of our workshop, so in the counties of Wiltshire, Dorset, Somerset and Hampshire. We also provide a service to the Home Counties and the London area.
3. Full design
The first design usually raises lots of points for further discussion, so the next stage is very creative. We meet either at the workshop or at your home and the aim of this meeting is to talk in more detail about your requirements, survey the space and get a precise idea on your thougts for a perfect kitchen.
At this point we are getting into the detail of the design and spending large chunks of time on your project so we charge a design fee of £500 or £1000 depending on the project’s complexity. This fee comes off the final price of your kitchen when you go ahead. And if you decide not to go further you are free to keep the drawings.
4. Updated plans, elevations, quotation and deposit
As a result of the design consultation we will update the plans and the quote as well as draw up full elevation plans of your kitchen. After you receive this second set of plans we will happily make one more update, but after that we would like you to confirm your commitment by reserving a slot in our construction schedule with a 10% deposit.
Our payment schedule is as follows:
a. 10% on commissioning your furniture to reserve your slot in our construction schedule.
b. 30% deposit paid before we start constructing your furniture, usually about 8 weeks before installation.
c. 50% paid before delivery. We reserve the right not to deliver your furniture if this payment has not cleared into our bank account before the delivery date.
d. The final 10% is due on completion of the project.
We are typically booked up 3 months in advance but sometimes we can fit projects in sooner.
5. Making your kitchen
Once we have received your deposit we will start to make your new kitchen. We will also set a target date for the installation. In addition, you can call us at any time to check on the progress of your kitchen or arrange a visit to see it being made.
6. Fitting
Once completed we will fit and if appropriate paint your kitchen. We use our trusted team of fitters and painters to do this. Often the kitchen fit is part of a larger project and we will be very happy to coordinate works with your General Contractor, Project Manager or Architect.
7. Finishing
We have worked very hard to minimise 'snags' or loose ends in our furniture, and generally install with very few or none. However they do happen and we have a dedicated furniture maker to address them as quickly as possible.
