In this new space, the brief was to incorporate a bar, spiral underground wine cellar, wall panelling and dining area, as well as a small sofa area – a sophisticated dedicated home entertainment space.
Much of the bar is disguised behind bespoke panelling.
Secret panelled doors open to reveal a touch of decadence.
Painted using Farrow & Ball’s green based Mouse’s Back, which work timelessly with the original cream kitchen, it creates a seamless flow through to the entertainment area.
The stunning bespoke cocktail bar was made using American black walnut individually cut to create the concave fluting. This fluting enabled the random textures and colours in the wood to really shine through and gives a beautiful effect to the space. It is brought to life with a one-off antiqued brass foot rail that runs along the base of the piece, finished with a stunning statement slab of Calacatta Verde marble.
A key element of any successful bespoke bar design is how luxurious finishes are deployed. In this case we chose a stunning slab of jade which is a very durable stone used widely for decorative use across Asia.
We then chose bespoke brass shelving to complement the rich green of the jade. The combined effect adds a touch of contemporary Art Deco decadence to the space.

The appliances are integrated; incorporating a Fisher & Paykel dishwasher drawer, Quooker tap, Miele integrated Freezer and Fridge. The entire back wall is then encased behind panelled pocket doors, coupled with bi-fold doors that create a seamless line with the entire room’s bespoke wall panelling.
