This period house in Oxfordshire underwent a full refurbishment and the client wished to reflect the architecture of the house with a Victorian kitchen design. They were looking for something unique, something that would breathe new life into this period property, a prospect that Nick relished.
The Bucknowle design was developed from a dressing room previously designed for another client and Nick felt that the style and beauty of it could be progressed into a kitchen.

The kitchen cabinetry style, with its round corner posts, follow the cabinet’s full height to create a beautiful softening effect on the room.

There is a lightness of touch to this Victorian kitchen design.
All of the bespoke cabinetry, even the tall run, stand on fine oak legs with a recessed plinth.
This slice of oak is colour matched to the hand painted cabinets, and runs the length of the tall cupboards, creating a natural break within the cabinetry design.
An antique mirror glass splash back has been used behind the Everhot 120i, taking reference from the home’s Victorian heritage.
Practicality comes in the form of a Fisher & Paykel french door fridge freezer and a Miele Pureline steam oven.

An enormous amount of natural light floods the room from large windows. The cabinetry doors and drawers are painted in Little Greene French Grey Pale which, along with the tall ceilings enhance the airy aesthetic even further.
While the interiors are painted in a bright colour; Little Greene Heat, adding a bold contrast to the cool exterior.
