We designed a unique dressing room for a listed Georgian farmhouse nestled within the rolling chalk down-lands of Wiltshire.
The dressing room complete with roll top bath, connects through double doors to the bedroom, and a shower room beyond, so the design team felt that some bespoke detailing on the door panels would deaden the room’s acoustics by disrupting sound, adding interest and texture to the space. The inspiration for the ribbed convex panels came from a bar we designed previously.

Ribbed panels were designed to bring texture into the dressing room cabinets

The dressing room island was kept low so as not to crowd the space

Taking inspiration from a traditional Haberdasher’s cabinet, glass fronted drawers are set within a European oak table. Giving the room the feel of a gentleman’s outfitters, they offer the perfect storage space for scarves, finer fabrics and small accessories. Leather button bow handles from Turnstyle Designs finish the piece.
The large island unit also has an additional purpose, acting as the perfect place to neatly fold and pack clothes in a suitcase.
To enhance the bespoke nature of the wardrobe design, we worked with the builder to run the fibrous plaster cornice around the face of the work.

Shoe storage is just one of the many things to consider in dresisng room design

Interior architectural design details have been extended beyond the dressing room, in to the shower room.
By manipulating a bulkhead, we were able to run the fibrous plaster cornice around the shower room, across the outside face of the shower as opposed to into the shower cavity itself. This also matches the detail in the main dressing room.
Haberdasher inspired cabinetry has also been used in the shower room, connecting the room once again to the dressing room itself.
