This year Guild Anderson are sponsoring the Fonthill Dog Show. It is a lovely local family day out in the beautiful Wiltshire countryside with lots of fun for both humans and canines.
This year the Fonthill Dog Show will be held on Sunday 4th June 2023.
It has been going for over 30 years, and is considered to be one of the oldest dog shows in the west country. Held close to the Guild Anderson head office and workshop on the Fonthill Estate at Fonthill Gifford, it is an old fashioned show in a beautiful setting.
Year after year owners and their dogs return to participate and enjoy both the competition and the idyllic location. Its appeal is broad: serious competitors come from far and wide with their lurchers and terriers, hoping to catch the judges’ eye.
Others bring their working dogs to show or compete in the scurry. But the most popular classes are always to be found in the fun, novelty and agility rings where children are encouraged to show their pets.
Naturally ‘Fancy Dress’ is one of the hi-lights, as is the ‘Oddest Couple’ and ‘the dog with the Most Appealing Eyes’!
Then there are races for lurchers and terriers and an open race for all other dogs.
As with any country fair, fete or village show there will be ice creams, BBQ, a Tombola and numerous stalls catering to your doggy needs.
The majority of our clients own at least one dog, and we are increasingly being commissioned to include dog crates, dog beds and dog wash facilities within our bespoke boot room designs.
Our very own head office team own no less than 4 dogs, all of which come to work at some point each week.
We enjoy supporting local Wiltshire events and will be offering complimentary “Pet Portraits” on the day, which will then be emailed to the owner after the event. There will be a bag of doggy treats for well behaved dogs (and owners)!
The Fonthill Dog Show is run by the South & West Wilts Hunt Supporters Club.
