Depending on the space allowed, our design team likes to incorporate either a walk in pantry or larder within most of our bespoke kitchen designs. Storage space is always critical in the design of any kitchen, and a pantry or larder cabinet can be an essential part of the bespoke plan and in ensuring that the rooms function on a practical level.
Within this hand painted bespoke pantry design we used eye level open shelving (partly because a low ceiling height forced us too!) which allows for easy access to every day necessities. The slab of Carrara marble allows for perishable items to be stored on a cold surface, or a space to store small appliances, and gives calm colour contrast to the paintwork.

Pink packs a punch for the small walk-in pantry

Carrara marble pantry worktops bring calm to the hand painted pink shelves and cabinetry
Above the marble counter top we have combined open shelving for tins and jars, while underneath cupboards and wicker baskets all offer different storage options for domestic essentials, vegetables and pet supplies.
In this beautiful scheme our client has embraced the concept of decorating with bright colours that create a joyful and uplifting atmosphere. A ‘Rhubarb pink’ paint has been fearlessly used, and now the pantry’s bottles, jars and condiments really stand out against their backdrop, generating even more contrast against the paint itself. It is a like a glamorous theatre stage set for the most mundane of kitchen ingredients!
This otherwise standard utilitarian room, has now been given character and humour, but once the door is closed, calm and harmony are restored throughout the main house once more.
