bespoke walk-in pantry in a Somerset country house

Georgian House Walk-In Pantry

SOMERSET

With an original flagstone floor and thick lime plastered walls this small walk-in pantry design adjacent to the kitchen was just the perfect space for the back pantry.  It allowed the adjoining main kitchen to be kept relatively appliance free, apart from the Aga, and place the Miele Appliances in this room.

The marble worktop that features in the kitchen continues through, with the cabinetry style and colour also consistent throughout.

Scullery Highlights

Scullery shelves rest on Harborne brackets designed by the Guild Anderson design team and made by Armac Martin. The original inspiration for these were the kitchens at Lanhydrock House.

FEATURES

Copperware

The back kitchen or walk-in pantry formed part of a larger kitchen project for a professional chef.

As part of the brief we needed to include provision for our client’s collection of copper-ware. Copper is an excellent heat conductor and allows for heat distribution to be spread evenly across the pan base, stopping certain areas becoming hotter than others.
