This large family home in Berkshire recently underwent a major renovation. As with all houses of a certain size, some of the most important areas of house are actually the ‘back of house’ spaces; a spot where the kids can come in after school with bundles of coats; school books and muddy shoes. A space to dump all of their kit without interfering with the comings and goings of the main house. Guild Anderson designed and created a room that could manage all the rigours that family life has to throw at it, and still look beautiful.
Delicate scalloped edging, added to the window seat’s rail, works well to soften the space. Georgian style brass handles also create an elegance to the design befitting this period home.
Ample cupboards and drawers, hooks for coats, along with a shelf for hats, bags, vases or baskets complete the practical requirements for this boot room.

This boot room also links through to a practical well sized laundry room and downstairs loo. And beyond that a playroom, all perfectly arranged for family living. Two guest rooms above are accessed by a separate staircase giving enough space for extra guests and their families to enjoy.
