If space allows then having the room to create a dedicated bespoke dressing room or walk-in wardrobe alongside your bedroom is a great place to start. Freeing the main bedroom of storage, allowing a designated space for all your clothes, a dressing room creates a sense of harmony in the room.
Sometimes our commissions require a combination of dressing room and walk-in wardrobe, or a dressing room combined with a bathroom is another great use of space.

Tall wardrobe doors allow space to hang dresses ready to wear

Bespoke cabinetry allows for details to be included within the dressing room design
There are two options when designing a dressing room.
One maximises the layout of the room with wall to wall storage of built in wardrobes and drawer units, often incorporating a dressing table and storage for accessories.
The other, if space allows, includes a number of free standing pieces of furniture, such as individual wardrobes that carry out differing functions.
In this design we have created two such free standing bespoke wardrobes. One is very much a hanging space to accommodate everything from shirts and trousers to longer dresses and winter coats. While a second wardrobe includes pull out wooden drawers for smaller items and shelving for jumpers.

Hand stitched leather door handles have been used for this wardrobe design to enhance the square edged features of the cabinetry.
Offering a contrast to the hand painted wardrobe doors, the leather creates another tactile finish for this room that will patinate beautifully over time.
When there is more than one piece of furniture the design is kept identical, but subtle changes can be incorporated.
In this room we have used both hand painted doors and antique mirror glass fronted doors to the wardrobes.
Other options are to choose different handles or perhaps a different paint colour for each piece. By creating a small contrast each piece of furniture is given its own identity, yet sit perfectly within the overall concept.

Within the wardrobe are a selection of oak drawers, pull-out shelving and open shelves, which take inspiration from timeless Haberdasher’s cabinet designs.
This unique combination of bespoke storage options gives ample room for any number of hanging or folded garments, giving the client the much needed storage space within the room.
