The original brief was to create a kitchen which was completely individual and exiciting to be in, and Jess had some fantastic ideas which we were able to weave in with our own design direction to produce a kitchen which met the brief while remaining functional.
The kitchen was very much designed with tiles
The view through the new extension windows
This contemporary extension was added to a listed Georgian house. It seemed sensible to mirror this traditional-meets-modern approach with the design of the kitchen. We created a cabinetry design with a square edged traditional bollection mould (a mould which rises above the face of the frame). The Buster and Punch brass handles, the tiled island and the striking Little Greene Paint Company Marine Blue colour give the space a sliver of the contemporary without being too sharp and oppressive.

Plenty of space allows two people to work back-to-back
Although it is a far cry from what we normally design and make, there is so much to love about this kitchen space. The vast length of the floor to ceiling crittal door looking out over the garden, the acres of white porcelain floor and the lightness and playfulness to the entire room ensures that your spirits are lifted as soon as you sit yourself down at that vivid island. It really brightens up a dull day.
The modern detail sits well with modern and traditional architecture
